Introduction

Many of us feel stuck on a never-ending hamster wheel: trying to keep up with the fleeting cycle of microtrends while juggling the reality of being out and about again — weddings, work, travel, concerts, and now, the insane number of holiday festivities. The pressure to wear a different, of-the-moment outfit for each occasion is real. But it’s not sustainable for our wallets, the planet, or our busy schedules. This is precisely what catapulted us to build one massive shared closet within a digitally connected community.

So, here we are, feeling incredibly proud: our online community has grown to tens of thousands thanks to your word of mouth. #ShopOnPickle has racked up millions of TikTok views as you share “get ready with me” videos and personal closet tours. You’ve helped keep thousands of items circulating (50,000+ in listings alone). You’ve shopped pieces straight from the closets of Kit Keenan and Lauren Wolfe, rented out your items to newfound friends, and had celebrities and stylists plucking items from your shared wardrobe. Many of you have been building Pickle side hustles, generating hundreds (even thousands!) of dollars each month.

It was an absolute no-brainer to extend all of that online goodness to an IRL format, making it even more convenient, valuable, and community-centric to rent from each other.

Step into Pickle — the Store

Architectural design: Marlena Todd

On Saturday, Dec. 9, we’ll open our first retail location in Manhattan’s West Village, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome those already part of our community and those discovering Pickle for the very first time.

Our store is the ultimate manifestation of the Pickle brand: a place where you can experience the magic of renting high-quality apparel and accessories with an engaged community of New York City’s most fashionable. Every detail of the store — the layout, the merchandise, the spacious dressing room, the full-length mirrors for outfit photos — was thoughtfully selected to feel like a true extension of your closet (or the giant walk-ins we see when scrolling Zillow, fantasizing about homes way outside our budget). For our renters, you can access a wider curation of on-trend, high-quality pieces to try before renting. For our owners, you can gain a physical storefront, which means more visibility for your most rentworthy pieces and increased earning potential.

Our opening is perfectly timed for the holidays — a season of one-time wears and holiday events. We want our store to be a resource, making it easier to navigate the annual overconsumption vortex while helping you look and feel your best. No matter the occasion or how last-minute it is, we’re enabling you to earn extra cash from items sitting in your closet during a crazy expensive time of year.

Shop

Shop a highly curated and rotating selection of in-demand styles, brands, and more sourced from enviable closets across NYC. Before renting, touch, feel, see, and try on Kit Keenan’s Self Portrait blazer dress, an Arcina Ori black lace dress, a chic YSL bag, or funky Jacquemus mini.

Style

Lean on our in-store expert stylists to help find the perfect rental option for any occasion (both in-store and online). If it’s not in store, we’ll source from other closets to have the items delivered straight to your door. Our stylists are equipped with the skills (and tech) to curate wishlists on the spot so that you won’t have to worry about committing certain items to memory. We’ll help you find just what you’re looking for (and then some).

Create Content

Our location will soon double as a hub for content creation: where you can get high-quality, stylized photos wearing pieces you’re listing and in items from our in-store collection. We’re appointment-based as well, allowing you to feel confident that your time with us will be free of crowds (which is always welcome during the holiday season).

Key Details

Our store is located at 21 8th Avenue (between Jane and 12th St) and will be open 11 a.m. — 7 p.m., seven days a week. ***For opening weekend only, our hours are 12 p.m. — 5 p.m.***

If you’re joining us on opening weekend, there’s even more to get excited about. We’re offering free tote bags and hats while supplies last, $10 off an in-store rental, and the gift of a free delivery code when leaving without a rental.

We can’t wait to open our doors to you!
